Hello Everyone! This is my first time participating in the Wilmot Warrior Weekend event!
I have had several family members with cancer. Some have survived and are thriving today while others have sadly been taken by the disease. The experiences that they went through stick with me every day. They are the reason why I am so passionate about my job. Once I joined the Radiation Oncology Team as a clinical research coordinator for Lung Cancer in Radiation Oncology, I got close with a lot of our cancer patients. I've talked with them about their pain, their fears of dying, and their hope for a future.
Both personal and professional reasons are why I am doing this. I am proud to participate in the Wilmot Warrior Weekend on September 21st & 22nd, 2024. It's more than a simple fund-raising event, it’s a victory cry for those who survived and triumphed over the disease. It's a remembrance for those who lost the battle but put up one hell of a fight. It's a movement to help fuel lifesaving treatments and cures for cancer patients in New York and around the world.
All fundraising will advance world-class cancer research and survivorship programs at the Wilmot Cancer Institute and the University of Rochester. Anything, even a dollar could make a difference. Please consider supporting my efforts by donating to my fundraiser and let’s leave cancer in the dust. I will make you all proud!
