In January of 2019, I lost my dear mother to stage four cancer, 15 years after her initial diagnosis and living with cancer, which overlapped with most of my childhood. I had never felt so powerless in my life, being Rochester while not being able to spend my mother's last seconds in Mexico. It's no coincidence that I said yes to participating in the Wilmot Warrior weekend's race to fundraise for a cause that has affected my family.
In the Mishnah, there is a phrase, tiqun ha olam, to repair the world. I urge those who come across this page to join me to tiqun olam, to accelerate the arrival of a world where less people will lose their loved ones due to this cancer.
I am proud to participate in the Wilmot Warrior Weekend on September 21st & 22nd, 2024 in Rochester, NY. Wilmot Warrior Weekend is more than just a first-class cycling, walk, and running event – it’s a celebration and movement fueled to create new life saving treatments and cures for cancer patients in New York and around the world.
All fundraising will advance world class cancer research and survivorship programs at the Wilmot Cancer Institute and the University of Rochester. Please consider supporting my efforts by donating to my fundraiser and let’s leave cancer in the dust.
