About the event
Stroll for Strong Kids and 5K in-person event will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024 in Genesee Valley Park.
- Registration for the 5k will begin at 7:15 a.m.
- The 5k race begins at 8:30 a.m.
- Registration for the Stroll will begin at 8 a.m.
- The Stroll will begin at 10:30 a.m.
- Kids activities will begin at 9 a.m.
For those participants who prefer the virtual option, you have the flexibility to hold your virtual stroll or 5k at a time and location that is convenient for you and your team. We suggest holding this during the May 31 - June 2nd timeframe, but this can be flexible.

Stroll participants pre-registration
Pre-registration for all Stroll participants (individuals and teams) will be held Friday, May 31 from 11 a.m.—6 p.m. at the Bloch Alumni and Advancement Building, 300 East River Road, Rochester, NY 14623. We encourage all teams and participants to take advantage of this opportunity to turn in your donations and pick up incentives (if applicable) prior to the event. This allows you to avoid waiting in line the day of the Stroll, giving you more time to enjoy the many activities we have planned.
If you are unable to come to the pre-registration, we will have a Registration Tent at the event on Sunday morning. The Registration Tent is the place to drop off any donations that you have in the form of cash and checks. You can also pick up the Incentive Tickets at Registration for any incentives that you have earned through your fundraising efforts.
5K in-person participants
Packet Pick-Up for all in-person 5k participants will be held on Friday, May 31 from 11 a.m. 6 p.m. at the Bloch Alumni and Advancement Building, 300 East River Road, Rochester, NY 14623.
5K virtual participants
Complete your 5k at a time that works best for you and submit your time. We will be sending you your t-shirt in the mail after the event.
Incentives
Raise $75-$149—short sleeve t-shirt
Raise $150-$249—long sleeve dri-fit t-shirt
Raise $250 or more—TBD
Parking at the park
Parking will be available in the parking lots located on Kendrick Road. There will be signs and balloons to help guide you.

About the hospital
Typically, more than 12,000 participate each year and help to raise more than $300,000. UR Medicine’s Golisano Children’s Hospital is the only comprehensive health care and research facility for children in the Finger Lakes region. We are excited to be holding this year’s event in Genesee Valley Park again and will have a great selection of family-fun activities, lunch and much more. Each year, 86,000 children from all New York State counties rely on Golisano Children’s Hospital for heart surgery, neurosurgery, and treatment of lung disease, cancer, eating disorders, and more.
We offer the Rochester and Finger Lakes region’s only pediatric neurosurgeon, pediatric plastic surgeon, pediatric surgeons, and so much more.
Each year, almost 800 children receive care in our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and more than 1,200 sick or premature newborns will visit the hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
