I am proud to participate in the Wilmot Warrior Weekend on September 29 – October 1st, 2023, in Rochester, NY. Wilmot Warrior Weekend is more than just a first-class cycling, walk, and running event – it’s a celebration and movement fueled to create new life saving treatments and cures for cancer patients in New York and around the world.
I am running for all our Wilmot patients and families. I am also running in remembrance of my amazing mom Luciana, her brother Giampaolo and her sister Luisa, all of whom left us much too early due to mesothelioma.
Mesothelioma is a cancer that is just starting to be effectively treated by new therapies driven by basic, translational and clinical research that targets the tumor microenvironment, like the studies done by our investigators in the Cancer Microenvironment Research Program at Wilmot Cancer Institute at the University of Rochester!
During my run, I will also be thinking of my cousin Valeria and dear friend Janice: brave, strong women and cancer survivors.
All fundraising will advance world class cancer research and survivorship programs at the Wilmot Cancer Institute and the University of Rochester. Please consider supporting my efforts by donating to my fundraiser and let’s leave cancer in the dust!!!
