Join us for this fun event and help support the best hospital and staff. We will continue to keep paying it forward to them as they did so much for our family during one of the most difficult experiences of my life.
Tyler was born on August 31, 2011... this was 3 months earlier than anticipated. Born at 2 pounds 2 ounces, Tyler started his journey in life quite differently than we thought. He spent 93 days in the hospital, the first half in the NICU and the second half in the PICU. The doctors, nurses and all support staff were AMAZING during this time of uncertainty, sharing with us their extensive knowledge of what Tyler was going though, how they could help and what we could do to help too. These individuals were so supportive and treated Tyler like one of their own. We made some lasting connections through this experience. We appreciate everything they did for us, including my nightly 2am phone calls to check in with my favorite overnight nurses. Tyler overcame a lot of obstacles to get home and once home, he kept fighting. In preschool he had help from some amazing teachers who shared with us that Tyler could qualify for early intervention services. Once those connections were established, he grew leaps and bounds with fantastic professionals that assisted with OT and PT. He eventually graduated out of those services and like the flick of a light switch, it's like he never needed any services. Now he's incredibly smart and athletic... playing 2 sports and will be running in the 5k again this year.
if you made it through all of this, thank you again for your support !
