Gian's Story in the NICU

Golisano Children's Hospital was our family’s home for 150 days. The care from nurses, social workers, child life specialists, respiratory therapists, doctors, front desk staff, custodians, and sibling clubhouse staff made our stay and visits informative and supportive.

Gian's team did a fantastic job getting him stable enough to graduate from the NICU in 2016. Many days, they gave us emotional support. On other days, physical hugs. Some days, a detailed analysis of what was going on and care action plans. After his NICU stay, we regularly visited the hospital for check-ups and testing. Outpatient services provide the same care and love as inpatient services.

On October 3, 2017, Gian gained his heavenly wings. We miss him dearly, and the Stroll for Strong Kids is one way we celebrate his life and revisit our memories of Gian's participation during the first two years of his life.
