Everett and Avree were born on November 30, 2022 at just 26 weeks and 4 days gestation. The 97 days that followed were filled with uncertainty, fear, happiness, sadness, setbacks and celebrations as they both faced many challenges related to their prematurity. With the phenomenal support and care of the NICU staff within the GCH, Everett and Avree grew strong enough to finally go home after a long and emotional journey. Without the NICU at strong, Everett and Avree would not be where they are today; two happy, healthy and thriving 1 year olds who continue to amaze all those who have the pleasure of knowing them. My husband and I are eternily grateful for the support they provided us as well, as we struggled to navigate life as NICU parents. The Blankenberg family is thrilled to be participating in their first Stroll for Strong event and to give back to the program who gave us so much.
