On March 15th we had our son Logan. We were told within 24 hours that he had a heart murmur. They told us it was common and that our primary care doctor would monitor it. After 2 weeks the murmur hadn't gone away. Our primary care doctor then referred us to Golisano Children's Heart Center. On April 8th at 24 days old we were told after many tests that he had a Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD). They told us they'd monitor it. We would spend the next year going to the heart center to monitor the VSD. It was in April of 2023 that we learned that time to operate to repair the VSD had come. So on the morning of July 5th 2023 Logan had his surgery that was followed by a 9 day hospital stay in the Cardio PICU and on 8 North. Today he a healthy and happy 2 year old who doesn't miss a beat. We could not have made it through any of this process without the amazing staff and the grand care that Golisano Children's Hospital offers. We are walking to raise as much as we can to support the amazing hospital, Nurses, Doctors, and Staff that make our lives a little bit easier during one of the hardest times in our lives.
