September 26, 2016 a day I will never forget.. the day we sat impatiently in the waiting room for what the doctors called a short surgery...3 hours and 45 minutes later we were finally able to see our boy. Jayke was just 1 week old when he was diagnosed with Coarctation of the Aortic valve, bicuspid valve, and a small murmur. Coarctation of the aortic valve is a narrowing of the major artery (the aorta) that carries blood to the body. This narrowing affects blood flow where the arteries branch out to carry blood along separate vessels to the upper and lower parts of the body.A bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) is an aortic valve that only has 2 leaflets, instead of 3. The aortic valve regulates blood flow from the heart into the aorta. I'm truly thankful and blessed that we were able to have 2 of the top surgeons work on our baby boy. Today, our fighter is stronger than ever he has accomplished so much already in his little life. we love him more than words could ever describe. He will forever be our warrior. ❤
