2024 Cookie Monster Stroll Info
Dear Cookie Monsters-
This will mark the 12th year Craig's Cookie Monsters will be participating in the Stroll for Strong. Our team has raised over an astounding $135,000 for the hospital and we feel so fortunate to have family and friends who care so much about our children's hospital. If you have been following Craig'story you know how much the hospital means to our family. Needless to say we still spend alot of time at Golisano. Combined Craig and Lauren have spent over 100 days in the intensive care units at Golisano. It is hard to comprehend how scary all those times have been on top of our cancer worries. We are so fortunate to have a dedicated children's hospital with the very best teams taking care of kids in our community. It has allowed us to stay connected as a family even it it meant meeting in the lobby for a hug or taking a walk around the block while Tim and I have traded off.
It is hard as a parent to sum up what Golisano has meant to our family- Craig will be going into his 12th year of care and continues to rely on several teams the to oversee his cancer journey and the spiral of side effects caused by his illness Seeing over 12 different providers Golisano continues to very much be a second home to our family. We are eternally grateful for the love and support of our providers who play such an important role in our lives The Stroll means so much to our family as we express our gratitude to the hospital as well as share in continued improvement of services we have seen first hand making such a difference in the care of pediatric patients and their families. We hope you will consider joining us Saturday June 1st helping us raise donations that will go directly back into this amazing community asset! We NEVER thought we would rely on the hospital beyond maybe a broken bone or need for stitches when our kids were born yet Craig and Lauren are both alive and well because of the life saving care they received just 15 minutes down the road from our home, in a setting created for children. Lily while not as critical was also diagnosed vocal cord disfunction condition in 2022 spending time working with therapist adding to the appreciation we already have for the skilled medical community we have locally.
We would absolutely love for family and friends to join us Saturday June 1st in the morning at Genesee Valley Park. We will have a tent and for anyone who has never been it is such a fun family event. There are several vendors who provide lunch, treats, and entertainment after. We will be emailing the team with details in May. Anyone who would like to order a cookie monster team tee shirt this year can send cash, check or Venmo me @Kim-Winter-9. Shirts will be $12.00 each. SHIRT ORDERS NEEDED BY 5/10. Feel free to email me with questions or shirt orders/sizes at Kim.winter@hotmail.com
We understand that these are stressful times and not everyone is in a position to make a donation again this year and we appreciate any support families can give whether that be a donation or just wearing your shirts and sharing pictures in support. Each donation matters no matter how much! If anyone has any questions on how to sign up or needs help please feel free to contact me at Kim winter@hotmail.com and I’ll be happy to help.
