WELCOME TO MY PAGE!
I am choosing to ride in the Towpath Community Go Pink bike ride to honor the memory of my mother Alice Verstreate who passed away from breast cancer in 1978. When I was a Freshman in college I received the news that my Mom had stage 4 breast cancer and was given just 6 months to live. Thankfully, she beat that prediction and lived to see me graduate but those were tough years filled with pain and suffering. She died at just 50 years old, in the prime of her life.
I will ride my bike each and every time I can to help raise funds to help those affected by cancer. It is the least I can do.
I am proud to join the fight against breast cancer this year. Each year, thousands are diagnosed with cancer. By coming together, the community can make a difference for all those breast cancer impacts. Towpath Bike Shop and the Towpath Community Foundation will host the annual Go Pink! ride and run on Sunday, October 13, 2019 at Mendon Ponds Park in Rochester. The event includes 10/25/50 mile rides and 5K trail run and post-race celebration. Proceeds support the Breast Cancer Research Initiative at the Wilmot Cancer Institute. Show your support by joining me at Towpath Go Pink! or giving a donation today!
