2021 VIRTUAL Warrior Walk: Celebrating Life Beyond Cancer

Team Corcoran

Welcome to Team Corcoran!

In June 2018, my father David Corcoran passed away from a 9 month battle with stage 4 renal cell carcinoma. The Wilmot Cancer Institute provided compassionate and outstanding care to my father while he was sick. Our family is forever grateful for the care he recieved at WCI, and this is one of our ways to give back.

Over 300,000 people a year are diagnosed with this type of cancer worldwide.

The American Cancer Society’s most recent estimates for kidney cancer in the United States for 2021 are:

About 76,080 new cases of kidney cancer (48,780 in men and 27,300 in women) will be diagnosed.
About 13,780 people (8,790 men and 4,990 women) will die from this disease.

However, it is considered one of the rarer cancers as fewer than 1 in 20 cancer patients have kidney cancer. It is also one of the hardest cancers to detect, since most do not cause symptoms until it has reached advanced stages and has started to spread.

Proceeds support the Judy DiMarzo Cancer Survivorship Program and cancer research efforts at Wilmot Cancer Institute. Show your support by joining me at the Wilmot Warrior Walk or giving a donation today!
