2020 Warrior Walk: Celebrating Life Beyond Cancer

Bohannon/Barnes Legacy

Statistically speaking, every single one of us will be touched by cancer at some point in our lives. Most likely, we experience it several times even if we aren't personally diagnosed as well. Many in my life have fought cancer, myself included. Some have concluded that battle. I created a team to honor two of those people: Christine Bohannon and Chris Barnes. Both were Webster teachers and are missed by so many. Christine passed away in June of 2017 and Chris in August of 2018. If you would like to walk in their memory, or to honor anyone else you know who has been impacted by this insidious disease, register to walk whenever and wherever you would like the weekend of September 12/13.

Proceeds support the Judy DiMarzo Cancer Survivorship Program and cancer research efforts at Wilmot Cancer Institute. Show your support by registering to walk/run or by giving a donation today! My goal is to ultimately raise a ton of money for research so we no longer have to accept cancer as a normal and frequent part of our lives.

If you would like to walk in support of a particular person in your life, feel free to wear a shirt and/or ribbon indicating the cancer that individual fought or is fighting and post a photo or video to social media with the hashtags #wilmotwarrior #bohannonbarneslegacy. If you are are not sure of the color, lavender represents all cancers, but here are some individual ones for reference:
