Team Addy is gathering again for its sixth year to participate in the 21st annual Stroll for Strong Kids and 5K. Each year our team gets larger and larger exceeding our fundraising goal! We thank you for your continued support, without your help this simply would not be possible. In the past five years Team Addy has raised over $50,000! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us give back to Golisano Children’s hospital.
For those of you that don't know, Adelyn was born April 22, 2012 at Strong Hospital. She was a beautiful, healthy baby girl. Addy's mommy and daddy we're getting ready to bring her home when a very special nurse named Gina heard a heart murmur. Addy's doctor sent her for an EKG and an Echo to check out the murmur. At that time, Adelyn's family learned she had three congenital heart defects. She would need open heart surgery to keep her alive. Her surgery was a success and she healed like a superstar. The team at Golisano Children’s Hospital's without a doubt saved Adelyn’s life.
We just celebrated Addy’s 6th birthday! She is full of life, smart, witty, curious, kind, caring and very sweet. You can always hear Addy anywhere she is, she is very loud which we feel will serve a greater purpose throughout her life. Addy has continued to be the best big sister to her brother Asher! Now that he is almost two they can play more together as well as fight like siblings!!! They are both always bribing eAr to eAr when they see each other. This summer she Will be busy participating in many Sumer camps one being a doctor camp. She is also excited to start playing soccer and learning from her dad !!! She is loving kindergarten and can’t wait for 1st grade. Addy has excelled at reading, writing and math has been easy for her.. Every day she amazes us, makes us laugh and we feel so proud to be her parents.
Please help us celebrate Adelyn’s success and health! No amount of money will ever show our family’s gratitude for Golisnao Children’s Hospital. This year Adelyn is very aware of the stroll, Team Addy and is even asking classmates to donate or join the walk. We have been writing names on hearts and taping them to her bedroom door as she receives donations. This has shown her how many people care about her and other children’s health. It is also fun for her to see the growth of Team Addy.
We have a ways to go to top last year’s fundraising total but I know we can get there with your help! We will continue to give back to the incredible hospital and staff that gave Adelyn all that she needed to be the special little girl that she is today.
