Lauren Morelle fought a brave, tenacious, 19 -month battle against cancer. On August 30th, 2017, Lauren lost her life. In doing so, however, she defeated cancer, because it never changed who she was. Lauren was always very open about her illness, and wanted to share her experience so that others would not be afraid. We laughed with her; we cried with her - sometimes at the same time. Yes, he was very funny!
She documented her battle through a Facebook page, Lauren vs. Cancer, (https://www.facebook.com/LaurenVSCancer/). Anyone who knew Lauren was aware of her brilliant sense of humor, her eternal feistyness and her appreciation for friends and family. Her openness about her battle allowed thousands of others to feel the warmth of her personality.
Cancer may have taken Lauren's life, but it didn't take her enduring spirit. We hope that her story, just like the story of thousands of cancer survivors and those whose lives cancer cut short, will help continue to raise money critical towards treatment and research.
