On Wednesday, August 17, 2016 my beautiful friend, and friend to so many, Elizabeth Painting lost her battle to cancer. After eight and a half years in remission from AML, (Acute Myeloid Leukemia), Elizabeth's cancer returned. She underwent extensive in-hospital treatment and was sent home to fight complications from her aggressive treatment. A few weeks ago, Elizabeth, and her husband Lee, learned her cancer had returned. Within two short weeks, the cancer took her life and the world lost an amazingly kind and loving person.
Elizabeth touched many lives through her love of Golden Retrievers and her passion for breeding and caring for these beautiful dogs. In 2013 my husband and I purchased our sweet girl, Lucy, from the Paintings. Over the past three years a beautiful friendship has blossomed. Elizabeth was a part of our family and someone whose memory will always remain a part of our lives.
To honor Elizabeth, a group of Golden owners are asking you to participate in the 1 Mile Family Fun Walk! If you own a Painting Golden, please bring your fur baby on the walk as I would love to get a group picture of Elizabeth’s legacy! Just think…a walk full of Golden Retrievers and Elizabeth smiling down on all of us! If you are unable to participate in the walk, please consider making a donation for those who are continuing their own battle with cancer.
Thank you for all of your love and support and for helping me honor my beautiful friend, Elizabeth Painting!
